22nd March, Hokone

We walk to the train station and say goodbye to Tokyo.

Tokyo had it character with lots of lights but to us it is just another big city. Looking forward to the countryside and another train ride this time to Odawara.

It is not long before we are out of the city and seeing vegetables mainly rice.
Didn't see any live stock though.
Then onto a bus and we climb into the mountains.

The top of the mountain is a thermal area and quiet strong with the smell of sulphur. It is know for its black eggs where they are simmered in the sulphured water for 12 hours. This time of the year there is no snow, well not meant to be.
But from here we have spectacular views of Mt Fuji! (Use your imagination)
We drive down to Lake Ashi for our overnight stay.
Good hotel with a great view from our room
